Somewhere along the way, I became the woman everyone called when something needed to get done. The career was real. The marriage was real. The responsibilities were real. Yet underneath all of it, I had stopped recognizing the woman I was before the world told me who to be. I was newly married and had just moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, hundreds of miles away from my family, the streets I knew, and the version of me everyone else recognized. I had a new last name, a new city, and a new life I had not yet figured out how to build. And in the quiet of that transition, I found myself sitting with a question I had managed to outrun for a long time: If I removed the titles and the roles, who was the woman left underneath them? I did not have an answer, at the time. I had spent years as a counselor helping other women find theirs, but I had never truly sat with that question for myself. That was the season She Shows Up was born, not as a business, but as a decision. A decision to show up for myself the way I had shown up for everyone else. Today, I work with high-achieving women standing at that same crossroads, women who are quietly asking, “If I remove the titles, the responsibilities, and the roles, who am I?” Together, we trace the drift back to its root. We uncover the parts of her that were buried beneath expectations. We help her remember who she has always been and walk confidently into the woman she was always called to be. And I am still learning her too, every day. Some lessons are small. Others crack me wide open. That is the work. That is what it means to show up.
