I Built This For The Woman I Had To Become.

I was newly married. I had just moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, hundreds of miles from family, from the streets I knew, from the version of myself that everyone else recognized. New last name. New city. New life I hadn't built yet.
And in the quiet of all of it, I found myself sitting with a question I had managed to outrun for a long time:
If you took away the titles and the roles, who was the woman that was left?
I didn't have an answer. I had spent fifteen years as a counselor helping other women find theirs. But I had never sat with the question for myself.
That's the season She Shows Up was born. Not as a business. As a decision. To stop disappearing into everyone else's needs. To learn how to fill my own cup. To finally show up, for me.
There is no certificate for showing up for yourself.
No five-step framework. No perfect morning routine that gets you there.
Only the daily, sacred, sometimes uncomfortable practice of choosing yourself
"over and over" until the woman you have been waiting for finally believes you mean it this time.
I had to learn how to rest. (Without earning it first.)
I had to learn how to name what I needed. (Without apologizing for it.)
I had to learn how to feel what I was feeling. (Without performing my way around it.)
And every day, I still learn something new about her, the woman I used to think I already knew.
Some days the lesson is small. Some days it cracks me open. That's the work. That's the gift.
WHY SHE SHOWS UP EXISTS
Because no woman should have to lose herself to find herself again.
She Shows Up was not built to make women better. It was built to bring women home, to themselves. To the truth they buried under everyone else's version of them. To the woman they were before the world told them who to be.
This is not soft wellness. This is not motivation. This is not another voice telling you to do more, be more, hustle harder.
This is the work of Stop Abandoning You.
And it is the most important work you will ever do.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
